CYLINDER HEAD GASKET – Remove & Replace – SS,V8 Both – [Includes: Remove carbon and check surfaces for warpage. Includes (where applicable): Adjust idle speed, Ignition timing, Valves and clean and adjust Spark Plugs.]
Verified engine runs rough, verified CEL. Scanned systems, data has recently been cleared. Mode 6 capture data shows the most significant number of misfires on cylinder #2. Code P0300 stored. Removed cylinder #2 spark plug. Inspected cylinder #2 with bore scope and revealed damage on top of the piston as well as on top of the viewable valve. Valve can be seen opening and closing with engine cranking. Mechanical failure is evident. REC:: Cylinder heads R&R to discover the point of failure and further diagnose.
