- Symptom not present upon inspection, vehicle starting and running as intended. Check engine light is NOT on. Several successful start attempts made. Scanned for trouble codes, see printout. Code found stored for generator control circuit; found alternator has recently been replaced (Carquest) Tested battery and charging system, battery charge capacity found at 81% (marginal), conductance tester indicates failure with voltage regulator (voltage very high), as follows: Idle, no load: 15.4 volts Idle, loaded: 15.6 volts Revved, no load: 15.8 volts Revved, loaded: 15.6 volts Alternator seems to be correctly installed. All cable connections are clean and tight, no wire damage found, belt is correctly installed and seems in good condition. Voltage regulator is built in to alternator. Customer inquiry requested: Has stated symptom been present since recent alternator replacement? Customer request: Lube, Oil, Filter Service Oil change overdue by nearly 2000 miles, according to window sticker. Oil level full upon inspection, condition seems marginal. Transmission fluid is turning brown, recommend drain/fill svc. Power steering fluid is brown and severely overfilled, fluid service
- Lubricate and check chassis. Change oil and oil filter. Check air filter and breather filter. Check all fluid levels and tire pressures.

Replaced alternator with same brand, found new replacement charging even higher than recent replacement. Recommend alternate brand. Replaced again, system now charging at 14.0 volts fully loaded, 14.4 volts not loaded
